Nappies
A baby will need over 4,000 nappy changes. Disposable nappies are not biodegradable and may take between 300 - 500 years to break down in landfill sites. Real nappies are a much more environmentally friendly and cost effective alternative.

Needle-sticks and syringes
Dispose of as per supplier's instructions, usually by sealing in container and putting in Household waste bin collection.
Please DO NOT place in any recycling container or scheme - needle-sticks or syringes cannot be recycled or reused.

Newspapers and magazines
Can be recycled using the paper banks at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre or Recycle Point or using your kerbside recycling scheme if one is available.
