Materials that are accepted at the site at Syke Park include:

• Scrap metal
• Hardcore and rubble/soil
• Oil
• Gas bottles
• Garden
• Wood
• Tins/cans
• Newspapers/magazines
• Cardboard
• PLastics
• Tyres
• Clothing
• Books
• Paint
• Shoes
• Glass bottles and jars (clear, green, brown)
• Small household batteries
• Small appliances (irons, hairdryers, microwaves)
• Car batteries
• TVs and monitors
• Fluorescent tubes/energy saving light bulbs
• Chemicals ie weedkiller (this must be reported to an attendant when brought on site)
• General household waste

Trade waste is not accepted

There is a permit scheme in operation at Wigton recycling centre. This means that if you want to bring your household rubbish using a van or a twin axle trailer (up to 3m long) you will require a permit to do so.
