- Fridges & other white goods (freezers, ovens, microwaves etc)
- Cans and tins
- Batteries household
- Glass bottles and jars (clear, green, brown)
- Fluorescent tubes/energy saving light bulbs
- Plastics
- Small appliances (hairdryers, microwaves, irons etc)
- Newspaper and magazines
- Shoes
- Car batteries
- TVs and monitors
- Chemicals ie weedkiller (this must be reported to an attendant when brought on site)
- General household waste
Trade waste is not accepted at Guides Lot HWRC.
There is a permit scheme in operation at Guides Lot HWRC. This means that if you want to bring your household rubbish to Guides Lot HWRC using a van or a twin axle trailer (up to 3m long) you will require a permit to do so. The Environment Agency is responsible for regulating the handling and disposal of hazardous and special waste and will provide information and advice.
