The Recycle for Cumbria team will be out and about around Copeland during September and October, helping Copeland residents to recycle more.
Staff from Cumbria County Council and Copeland Borough Council are joining forces for a campaign that aims to spread the word about local recycling facilities and encourage more people to use their kerbside recycling collection service.
A launch event will take place in Whitehaven on Thursday 2nd September and this will be followed by several more events and activities around the district, all aimed at driving up recycling rates. Black recycling boxes for paper, cans and glass will be available for collection at all of the events during the campaign, along with the information on how to use the recycling collection service and a 'box hat' lid for the recycling container.
The campaign is funded by Cumbria County Council, Copeland Borough Council and WRAP, the Waste and Resources Action Programme.
If you live in the Copeland area, keep your eye out for the Recycle for Cumbria team during the next two months and please come along to an event near you to find out how you can recycle more in Copeland.
